Debunking claims of job offers from Kenya Airports Authority – The Star, Kenya

• KAA said that any vacancies advertised through this premise should be treated with extreme caution.
• Also, the mail address that the fraudsters used is not available, meaning that it was just created to win the hearts of some members of the public.
The message that has been widely shared through WhatsApp claiming to be from the Kenya Airport Authority congratulating innocent and unsuspecting Kenyans that they have secured job opportunities with the authority is fake.
The message reads that:
“Dear applicant, I am glad to inform you that you have qualified to work with Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) following your application. Kindly check the link tiny.kemyaairways.com for more information and comply with the requirements before tomorrow 1.00 pm,” the false message reads.
However, the authority has dismissed the message, saying that members of the public should be alert to such unscrupulous persons who are defrauding them.
“Unsuspecting victims are being sent fake job offers via social media. The said offers are hosted on a Google Docs link and victims asked to pay a ‘medical fee’ of Sh2,700.”
KAA added that any vacancies advertised through this premise should be treated with extreme caution.
It added that all job opportunities available at the authority are officially advertised in leading daily newspapers and posted on http://kaa.go.ke/careers.
Also, the mail address that the fraudsters used is not available, meaning that it was just created to win the hearts of some members of the public.
