Mwingirwa Boniface Mwongela is a public health officer who was licensed in June 2021 after successfully completing a one-year internship in Marsabit county.
However, that would usher in a period of strife, struggle and frustration as he sought to find an institution willing to offer him a job.
It is for this reason that he put up a post on Facebook to vent and pour out his frustration hoping that someone will be touched to employ him.

According to Mwongela, employment opportunities in this country are for people who know or are close to those in the echelons of power.
He indicated that his career began on the wrong footing when his internship as a Public Health Officer at Marsabit Teaching and Referral Hospital coincided with the global pandemic.
With the internship done, the young graduate got into the hustle of getting licensed by the Public Health Officers and Technicians Council officers.

He reveals that his license finally came out after paying a fee of KSh 2400 on top of KSh 7000 for indexing and another KSh 20,000 for his board exams.
Even with the paperwork in order, Mwongela says he has walked to any office but came out unsuccessfully.
In Mwongela's words, the Kenya we live in is not a level playing field, which is why peers without licenses were employed but he's remained jobless.
He maintains that he has always been an optimist who has tried his best to remain positive but now he is tired.
In the meantime, the holder of a bachelor's degree in Public Health from Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology ekes a living doing small-time photography.

Mwongela says that his cry for help represents several other young adults who have dreams but have remained jobless.
He added that it was time for him to speak up because he is devoid of options and tired of trying in vain, so those with the ability should help him out.

A recent article on TUKO.co.ke revealed that desperate job seekers have become targets for online scammers.
They do so by creating fake job adverts for lucrative careers in banking to roles in globe-spanning agencies to extract cash or steal personal data.
This is due to the fact that Kenya currently has more than 1.6 million young men and women who are unemployed.
