It’s the greatest sporting spectacle on Earth, a month-long feast of football when the finest players on the planet compete for the honour of holding the most-prized tournament of them all aloft.
Fans are already counting the days until the 22nd FIFA World Cup kicks off in Qatar on 21 November, hoping for a ray of sunshine to flood a year darkened by trouble and strife.
